DO THEM RIGHT THE FIRST TIME
Time is money. Sometimes, spending the money to do things right can save endless amounts of trial and error frustration. It is possible to fiddle with your carburetors for extended periods of time and still not get them properly cleaned, unless you have the right experience and equipment.
I prefer not to use carb ‘dip’ on the majority of the components I deal with, mostly due to their age and rarity. There are a few makes that will allow it without significant issue, but I prefer a better, safer method. Also, unless you have invested a great deal of money and time into proper ultrasonic cleaning equipment you can often just compound your problems, making the units even worse. They will “look” clean, but often have deposits jammed in internal areas that you can not see or reach. Inexpensive home jewelry-type ultrasonic units only tend to drive contaminates further into these passages.
It requires a combination of experienced know-how with an industrial ultrasonic unit that has a proper frequency sweep and selectable heat cycles to really see the amazing benefits this type of cleaning can provide. This is what I offer. It does not always have to be expensive either. A basic cleaning is good enough for the majority of carbs that have been in recent use.
